The director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, said today that the prime minister of the provisional institutions of Pristina, Albin Kurti, brought us to the brink of conflict, that he wants to set the whole region on fire, and that his extremist policy is encouraging extremists to attack Serbs.

He told Pink TV that the Serb people are suffering in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, but also in the south of the Province.

"All his actions in the last few months, he did everything to provoke a reaction from the Serbs and force our people to defend themselves, he wanted to drag the Serb people and Belgrade into conflict and thus avoid the formation of the ZSO (Community of Serb Municipalities)," said Petkovic, according to Tanjug.

He also said that there is no one who has not condemned Kurti, that the Americans are the loudest in this, and that even French President Emmanuel Macron said that Kurti is responsible for all the events in the north.

"Everything that Kurti did, by bringing special (police) forces Rosu, their illegal presence on the Bistrica Bridge, mistreatment of citizens, the banning of referendums and elections and the shameful election process of April 23, he is now appointing Albanian mayors who received 500 votes each (out of about 40,000 enrolled voters), this a scandal. And despite all this, the international community, instead of containing him, supports the election. There, Hetemi (one of the Albanian mayors) has not left the municipal building, he is not allowed to peek through the window, so what kind of mayor is he, who does he represent," said Petkovic.

He reiterated that the Serbs have been peacefully testing for 17 days and reminded that 14 days have passed since the arrest of Serb men Rados Petrovic and Dusan Obrenovic, who at the time peacefully protested sitting on the ground.

"There is a video on social sites showing the two sitting on the ground before FOR soldiers pulled them into their cordon. They were sitting calmly and KFOR handed them over to the Kosovo police, what were they arrested for? The conflict between the protesters and KFOR soldiers started after that, our people reacted to the violent action of KFOR, where they (Serbs) were trampled on, dragged by the feet. Our people defended themselves with fists and stones, they were not the first to start," said Petkovic.
