Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced today that he is canceling his trip to Bratislava.

In a video message, which he posted on Instagram, he said he is staying with his people.

"Dear citizens, yesterday was an extremely difficult day for the entire Serb nation. I am convinced that we will succeed in fighting for the freedom of our people, for the survival of our people and the safety of our people in the north of Kosovo and Metohija. There is only one condition for that, so small, that I cannot believe that people from the Quint (US, France, Germany, Italy, UK) and the most powerful western countries cannot fulfill it - and that is the removal of fake mayors who do not represent anyone at all," said the president.

"As far as we are concerned, we will continue to advocate for peace and to preserve that peace, both in our relations with KFOR and in our relations with everyone else," Vucic pointed out.

He said that he canceled his trip to Bratislava and his two-day stay in the capital of Slovakia, because it is more important for him to be with his people.

"Today also I will be visiting our soldiers, our heroes, several thousand of them who are deployed in the most important places, and I am convinced that both truth and justice and Serbia will win in the end," stressed Vucic.
