The Serb List conveyed today to a senior KFOR officer the request of the Serbs for the members of the special police to immediately withdraw from all municipalities in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, Vice President of the Serb List Igor Simic said.

In Zvecan, after it was announced that the KFOR commander in charge of the north of Kosovo and Metohija would come to negotiate with the Serbs, a senior KFOR officer appeared, and Simic told reporters that he had told him that, unless the special police withdraw, the citizens will remain in front of the municipal buildings.

He added that the KFOR officer told them he understood their concerns and why they had gathered, but that he had to convey this to his superiors.

He added that he wanted to facilitate the replacement of police officers.

The Serb List also said that it does not want to deal with minor issues such as the exit of two vehicles that are in the vicinity of the citizens and the replacement of policemen, but that it has only one request, which is that everyone immediately withdraws from all municipalities, after which the citizens will disperse.

The Serb List also demands that KFOR provides security for municipal buildings.

The situation is still tense in Zvecan, Leposavic and Zubin Potok, where citizens have gathered demanding that the newly elected Albanian mayors do not come to the municipal buildings and that the special Kosovo police withdraw.
