The representatives of the Serb List have given Pristina Prime Minister Albin Kurti until June 1 to "stop the repression of the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija," and their message is also that if these or similar actions continue, a decisive response from the Serb people will follow.

The vice-president of the Serb List, Igor Simic, told a press conference after the oath taking ceremony for the mayor of North Kosovska Mitrovica and the displaying of the flag of so-called Kosovo on the municipal building, that peace was preserved solely by the efforts of the Serb List, President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, and the Serb people - and that this was done by superhuman efforts.

"We managed to preserve the peace and restrain the people from reacting to the provocations coming from the anti-Serb regime of Albin Kurti," Simic said.

He stressed that this patience has come to an end, and gave Kurti a deadline of June 1 to "stop the repression of the Serb people in the area of Kosovo and Metohija."

"To stop with grabbing Serb-owned land, which he is carrying out under false expropriation. To stop harassing Serb citizens, arresting Serbs under the guise of some false indictments.

To stop the persecution, intimidation and attacks on Serbs. To stop detaining Serbs, because to this day, Serbs are held in dungeons all over the territory of Kosovo and Metohija without any proof of their guilt or what they are accused of.

To stop denying the basic and elementary rights to the Serb people, such as the right to get medical treatment, an education, the right to, like all other nations in Europe in the 21st century, vote, to participate in elections and referendums, which has been denied to the Serbs Kosovo and Metohija," stressed Simic.

Finally, he said that if these or similar actions continue, a decisive response from the Serb people will follow on June 1.

"We will defend the right of Serbs to stay and survive in their ancient homes by any means necessary," concluded Simic.
