Disgrace: So-called Kosovo minister provoking Djokovic because he wants his kids baptized in southern province
This statement made by Djokovic created a big storm among the politicians there
Unfortunately, the best Serbian tennis player, Novak Djokovic, was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the tournament in Rome after yesterday's loss to Holger Rune, leaving him with no chance to fight for the trophy in the eternal city.
During the week, he was extremely interesting to the Italian media, so the well known paper Corriere della Sera carried an extensive interview in which Djokovic stressed that one day he would like to return to Kosovo and Metohija with his wife Jelena to baptize his children.
"I know that this topic is always very sensitive. The conflict is still present, not armed, but there are tensions. I don't want to get involved in politics, but for every Serb, Kosovo and Metohija is in the heart, in the center of our culture, identity, tradition and religion," Djokovic said.
And then, the reaction from the other side. In Pristina, they were literally furious because of Novak's words, so much so that Minister of Culture of so-called Kosovo Hajrulla Ceku felt he had to react.
On Twitter, he shamefully used the fact that Djokovic was not vaccinated against coronavirus, to post, "no vax, no entry", alluding to the fact that Novak missed the Australian Open, the US Open and all the masters in the US because of this.
But what is most bizarre here is the fact that there has been no Covid vaccine requirement to enter the territory of so-called Kosovo since May 1, 2022. So, for over a year, therefore it's obvious that Ceku has no idea about the regulations prescribed by his own so-called administration.
Unless some scandalous conditions are put in place, Djokovic can therefore go to the territory of the southern province and fulfill his wish.
