The president is visiting Sokobanja, Rtanj, Knjazevac...

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic was visiting the Zajecar District on Friday. He first went to Sokobanja, then to Rtanj, and continued his visit in Knjazevac and Svrljig.

President Vucic arrived in Rtanj, where he was visiting the final works on the expansion of the Ramonda Hotel. He immediately chatted with the hard-working women from the mountains who prepared a joint gift for him, which contained all the best that Rtanj can offer - brandy, honey, hazelnuts. He was presented with all the savory and sweet specialties, such as smoked cheese, Vlach cheese in wine, etc.

The program of the visit includes a tour of stands selling local products and a speech the president was to give on the summer stage Vrelo in Sokobanja.

After visiting the stands in Sokobanja, he addressed citizens, and thanked them for everything that has been done to make Sokobanja second only to Belgrade in terms of the number of visits and overnight stays by tourists. He was informed about the riches of this area, and got to play a game of chess with students.

"It's up to us to do as much as we can. Let's shorten the first exit at Rutevac by half an hour. We have a project for that, it will cost more than 12 million euros... If I asked you to share 12 dinars, you would say that I came here to rob you," joked Vucic.

That is extremely important for Sokobanja, noted Vucic, adding that in a few months we will see machines working and building.

"We have to build a bypass and we have to do it. We will start working on the water immediately, those 15 million euros must be solved," said the president.

"There hasn't been half of these investments in Sokobanja in decades. We will be able to do that, and I am happy to see some of the medical staff... Before the end of the year, we will specifically increase the salaries of nurses and doctors, because they do a terribly responsible and difficult job. In addition to the general increase, we will have additional increases, so that you can be here, with our children, and soo that you can make a decent living from your work," says Vucic.

As he stressed, first the Army was helped, and now it's the turn of the doctors who have the most difficult job, of miners, but we never respected that sufficiently.

"The miners from Resavica know how many times there were requests to shut down the mine, and I was the one who opposed it, because I knew that we would need it. And when they went on strike and demanded that coal be abolished, I said that we will work on increasing renewable energy elements. You have to think... We know what the hardest possible job on earth is. I am proud of the fact that we rejected that kind of pressure, to save our jobs, and I hope that the issue of underground exploitation will be resolved soon," said Vucic.

The turn at Rutovac will reduce the journey by half an hour, which will do a lot for Sokobanja, the president said, adding that it will be the shortest way to Stara Planina (Stara Mountain).

The president stated that Serbia is not in an easy situation and that today the occupation gauleiter in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, Albin Kurti, made the decision to open a bridge over the Ibar River between southern and northern Kosovska Mitrovica with only one goal - to expel Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija.

"You should know, even today, the occupation gauleiter in the north of Kosovo and Metohija Albin Kurti made a decision, only a few days after the disgraceful fake elections that they held, to open the bridge that was a dam and guardian of the interests of our people in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, in order for the Albanians from southern Mitrovica to also take over northern Mitrovica. This is their idea of many years and for many years our people opposed it," said Vucic, addressing the citizens during his visit to Sokobanja.

He stressed that Kurti justifies this by saying that they do not want ghettos in Mitrovica but open cities, and that will be easy for him to sell to Western representatives, even though his only desire is to expel Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija. And he want conflicts at any cost, added Vucic.

"We will do everything in our power to preserve the peace and we will do our best to preserve the peace so that never again will any mother have to who she is going to send to war. But we are also telling them before that May 2 (meeting) and Brussels, and that will continue even after that - don't even dream about succeeding in your intentions to expel or destroy Serbs in any part of Kosovo, in that case we will know what to do," said Vucic.

The president also said that he is in favor of Serbia remaining militarily neutral, that the country will not join NATO, or other military blocs.

This morning, the president made a statement about his health, saying that he is fine and reminded that today he was going on a planned tour of this district.

"I'm well. I'm going on a tour of Serbia today starting at 12 noon," said Vucic.

On Thursday some media in Serbia reported that the president was in the hospital, and this first appeared on social networks.
