The export of goods from Serbia to China will be further increased in the coming period, Minister of Trade Tomislav Momirovic stressed after a working meeting with Mayor of Ningbo Tang Feifan, as well as with other officials of the City Government of Ningbo, during the Serbian cabinet minister's official visit to the People's Republic of China.

He added that we are witnessing the export increasing year by year, so in 2022 it reached a record 1.2 billion dollars.

"The port of Ningbo is one of the busiest ports in the world, through which 95% of products from Serbia are imported to China, and I am sure that the signing of a free trade agreement will contribute to Serbia further expanding trade relations with this city and the companies operating there," said Minister Momirovic.

Before the meeting, he visited the industrial Future Park, owned by the company CCCC, that Serbia will partner with to build a top of the line modern science and technology park in Belgrade, named after Mihajlo Pupin.

"By implementing a project such as the Mihajlo Pupin science and technology park, we will attract new investments from China, which will generate new jobs and new revenues for our country. We are working to make the future industrial park in Belgrade a modern hub that will attract global IT companies, the pharmaceutical industry, other high-tech companies, but also talent and the scientific community from the entire region," the minister underlined.

During today's working visit to the People's Republic of China, Momirovic also visited one of the largest companies in the world, Alibaba, in the city of Hangzhou.

"They are going through major internal transformation, and when that is done, Serbia is waiting for them. Serbia is a country that has launched a major initiative such as Open Balkan, and if they want to expand in the Balkans, we expect them to come to Serbia," said Momirovic and added that regardless of the great growth of our trade with China, he expects that exports in the following years will grow more and reach 2 billion euros.
