"The Presidency's decision for me to be acting leader until elections for the party president represents a great responsibility for me. Taking responsibility in a complex political moment is not simple. I believe that taking responsibility will result in the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) taking on social and political responsibility," said the new leader of the DPS, Danijel Zivkovic, Vijesti reported.

"In the parliamentary elections, we must maintain political relevance, and we will be the party that will win the largest number of votes. We will be extremely motivated ahead of the vote," he said.

He thanked his colleagues from the Presidency, the president and the main board.

"I've been through all DPS selections, I believe in the team's potential," said Zivkovic, who was chosen after Milo Djukanovic, who on Sunday lost Montenegro's presidential election, resigned earlier on Thursday.
