Serbia 4th in Europe and 1st in region: World Bank's assessment of digital transformation
Our country ranks 11th globally
According to the latest global World Bank report, which compares the progress of 198 economies of the world in the field of digital transformation, Serbia is in 11th place at the global level, that is, in a high 4th place in Europe, writes the website Cord.
The digital administration maturity index value of 0.895 enabled Serbia to advance on the global list by 40 places compared to 2020. This puts Serbia in first place in the region, but also in front of Austria, Spain, Germany and the United Kingdom, the website further states.
In the report, Serbia is in group "A" i.e. in the group of global leaders in the field of digital transformation, both in relation to the value of the composite index of maturity of digital management, and concerning each of the individual indices that assess the extent to which the key systems and technical-technological catalysts of digital transformation are provided, the provision of digital services, adequacy of regulations and policies, the level of digital skills, but also the existence of mechanisms for digital interaction and citizen involvement and other important prerequisites.
At the first international conference "The Future of Biotechnology" which was held in October last year, Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic stressed that exports from our IT industry had reached 2.5 billion euros.
