The BCG vaccine against tuberculosis, which is given to babies immediately after birth, has reportedly been urgently withdrawn from use due to doubts over it producing a complete immune response.

As Telegraf has learned, this is not about anything controversial, and especially not something that harmed patients. Only the one line of vaccines has been replaced by another.

"Not even the first that got replaced was problematic, there were no problems with it. The vaccines did not reach the patients at all," a source has told Telegraf.

We have also learned that this is actually the policy of the new management of the Torlak Institute, which insists on checking everything.

Thus, this withdrawn line of BCG vaccines was actually removed because of additional checks, all for the sake of patient safety and the health of the population.
