Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Milos Vucevic met today with Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia Serbia Damjan Bergant.

On that occasion, Minister Vucevic pointed out that the cooperation between the two countries is characterized by good relations with a tendency for further development and expressed his belief that such a trend will continue in the coming period.

Relations between the two countries, said Minister Vucevic, provide the opportunity and space for improving cooperation in the field of defense in a way that reflects mutual interests.

He pointed out that the upcoming meeting at the ministerial level in Ljubljana is an opportunity to exchange opinions on relations in the field of defense and prospects for further development.

During today's meeting, Ambassador Bergant stressed Slovenia's support in the process of Serbia's accession to the European Union.

Slovenia, he emphasized, is determined to strengthen cooperation in the field of defense between the two countries, especially regarding the continuation of multi-year cooperation in the field of archival materials.

The ambassador of Slovenia said that, in addition to bilateral cooperation, there is also very successful cooperation between the two countries and the militaries within the Balkan Military Medical Forces, the "Graz format," "Central European Defense Cooperation - CEDC" and other regional initiatives.
