Vucic on Silicon Valley Bank collapse: "Serbians are safe, who knows what awaits us worldwide"
"Who knows what kind of strange things we will see. It's March," said Vucic
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said today that banks in Serbia carry out strict supervision and that citizens can trust the banks that operate with the permission of the National Bank of Serbia.
Vucic said this after the start of works to build the industrial park in Dobanovci, when asked what the situation is with banks in Serbia after the collapse of a bank in the US, he added that Serbia will make sure there are no problems.
"It is obvious what happened there, they are one of the key banks for startups and they gave fixed interest rates on large sums, in turbulent times. This is a big crisis not only in the US. I see that the US Treasury is working in a dedicated and serious way so there are no major problems and consequences, but there are problems. I also see that Rushi Sunak is busy saving the British branch," said Vucic.
He mentioned that many things have been happening lately, such as the announced meeting between Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin next week.
"Who knows what kind of strange things we will see. It's March. All kinds of strange things happen in March, the polarization is increasing," said Vucic.
