Although they are not playing the Indian Wells Masters, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal are still more interesting to the world media than the other tennis players competing at the said tournament!

Thus, the English media came up with an interesting article about the records held by the two tennis players, and stressed that the one they hold together will probably never be broken by others.

It's an 18-0 record, that is, a streak that both Novak and Rafa have against certain rivals. Djokovic has achieved that against Gael Monfils, while Nadal has never lost to Richard Gasquet.

Djokovic and Monfils first encountered each other at the US Open in 2005 and since then Djokovic has won 18 consecutive matches against him. The last was in Madrid in 2022, and the Frenchman said at the time:

"Bravo Novak, under normal circumstances, I would throw the joystick at 3-0. We will try not to make it 21-0 like in ping pong. Until next time," said Monfis, who has announced his arrival to Banja Luka, where the Serbia Open will be played.

On the other hand, Nadal played his first match against Gasquet at Estoril in 2004, while he won the last one against him in 2022 at the US Open (3-0).

Given that the Serbia Open is scheduled for mid-April, and that a duel between Djokovic and Monfils is quite possible, Nole could very easily overtake Nadal in this case as well and become the player holding the absolute record when it comes to the streak of invincibility.
