Why is only central bank governor Jorgovanka Tabakovic's card different: "One loves and breathes for Serbia"

At the opening of the Kopaonik Business Forum, NBS (National Bank of Serbia) Governor Jorgovanka Tabakovic wished that everyone would have the opportunity to be "friends to friends."

She also showed her identification card, on the back of which all other participants have the Mastercard sign.

However, her card was different. Namely, as she showed, it had the logo of Postanska Stedionica, i.e., of (Serbia's) DinaCard.

"One loves Serbia, one works and breathes for Serbia, and DinaCard is worth the most," she said at the beginning of her presentation. She pointed out that competition is the greatest benefit of modern society, and that the NBS will continue cooperation with partners such as Mastercard.

Speaking about the impact of the geopolitical situation on inflation in our country, she said she "responsibly" claims that the central bank reacted at the right time.

She reminded that our inflation is mostly imported.

The unemployment rate, she stressed, is at the lowest level.

The 30th Kopaonik Business Forum was opened today on Mt. Kopaonik, and the president of the organizer, the Association of Economists of Serbia, Aleksandar Vlahovic, speaking about the key achievements between the two forums, pointed out that the economy of the Western Balkans last year achieved significantly weaker results compared to 2021.

At the end of the introductory speech, Vlahovic called on employers and companies to send aid to Syria and Turkey, which are affected by devastating earthquakes.
