Novak reveals he will play at Olympics in Paris: He could win 23rd title at French Open, and gold for Serbia!
The best Serbian tennis player believes that he can finally reach that long-awaited Olympic gold
Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic revealed to the media in Dubai, shortly after beating Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor and advancing to the quarterfinals, that his goal is to play at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
It will be a new opportunity, very possibly the last one, for our ace to add to his impressive collection of trophies the one he probably wants the most now - an Olympic medal for Serbia.
Djokovic's greatest success at the Games is the bronze from Beijing in 2008, two years ago he finished fourth after a painful defeat to Alexander Zverev in the semi-finals, and then a loss to Pablo Carreno Busta in the fight for third place.
In Dubai, he announced that he would go after the long-awaited gold in Paris.
"I hope that I will be healthy and ready to play next year at the Olympic Games in Paris. It will be played on clay at the French Open grounds, I am familiar with those courts, so I hope for the best result," said Djokovic.
Novak won two of his 22 Grand Slam titles at the French Open (2016 and 2021).
Paris could, as soon as next year, thus become the city where Novak could enter the eternity of the sport as the most successful Grand Slam player of all time, but also as an Olympic winner.
Let's hope to see such a scenario play out.
