Spring arrived early in Serbia, so the daily temperature in some places was 20 degrees in previous days. Snow on the mountains has almost melted, and fans of winter sports on Zlatibor, Zlatar and Kopaonik are still looking forward to a white blanket. However, despite the high daily temperatures, the Jabuka Mountain in the southwest of Serbia is very much covered in snow, with a depth of 50 to 60 centimeters.

It is located close to Prijepolje, along the Montenegrin border, in an oasis of peace and the realm of untouched nature. All the mountain lacks are guests, which with its potential could certainly open the doors to tourists from all over the world.

"Jabuka has the potential to come to life and reach the attendance of the neighboring Zlatar, Tara and Divcibare. Now that there is no snow almost anywhere in Serbia, a true winter idyll reigns here, where visitors could certainly enjoy themselves. We are located in a beautiful place, on the road that connects Serbia and Montenegro, we have all the amenities for tourism. I live in Jabuka and I think it would be worth investing effort and money in this tourist attraction," said Bojan Cvijovic, a resident of Jabuka.

Rural households at the foot of the mountain are experiencing the same fate as many Serbian villages that are getting depopulated.

According to locals, this unreal beauty should be preserved, and only tourism could help them in that sense.

In the village there is the Jabuka monastery and the Bosko Buha monument, as well as a memorial complex to this National Hero, who died in this place while still a child.

Jabuka is about 15 kilometers from Prijepolje, at an altitude of 1,300 meters.
