Milos Nikolic (26), suspected of brutally killing Petra Vladulovic (2) in a rented apartment in Zajecar while her mother Jelena Todorovska (23) watched everything, has been questioned at the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Zajecar, Telegraf has been told.
"He exercised his legal right not to present a defense, that is, he defended himself by remaining silent. He is charged with aggravated murder of a child," we were told.
The maximum penalty for this crime is life imprisonment.
The autopsy of the victim has been completed at the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Nis, and preliminary results speak that the toddler's liver was torn from the force of the blows she received, and she had head injuries, Telegraf.rs learned from the Higher Public Prosecution in Zajecar.
The mother has also been detained and will be questioned. The police believe that she kept silent about the violence perpetrated toward her children by their stepfather.
