The three arrested are accused of calling on citizens to gather in large numbers in Belgrade and to violently overthrow the Government and the president of the Republic of Serbia
Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in cooperation with the Security and Intelligence Agency and the competent prosecutor's offices in Belgrade and Novi Sad, on Wednesday evening arrested Damnjan Knezevic (35), Dejan Zlatanovic (52) and Dejan Babocek (36) on suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of calling for a violent change in the constitutional order, while Babocek is also charged with the criminal offense of illegal production, possession, carrying and trafficking of weapons and explosive substances.
As Telegraf.rs has learned, they will be questioned today at the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade.
The three arrested are accused of calling on citizens to gather in large numbers in Belgrade and to violently overthrow the Government and the president of the Republic of Serbia.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Interior of Serbia says that the police found a carbine with optics and related ammunition in Babocek's possession, which, as suspected, had previously been handed over to him by M.J., who was arrested on suspicion that he had committed the criminal offense of illegal production, possession, carrying and traffic in weapons and explosives. It is suspected that M.J. had previously stolen the weapon, so he is also charged with the criminal offense of aggravated theft.
I.T. (28) has also been arrested on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of illegal production, possession, carrying and trafficking of weapons and explosive substances.
