Early elections could be held as soon as September in Serbia, reports Blic unofficially from the top of the SNS.

The information about the approximate date of elections comes after a harsh speech delivered by the leader of the party and the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, at the meeting of top SNS officials, which was reported about by Novosti.

"It's better to join the opposition than to let partisan and private interests run the country. I am ready to go to elections as candidate for prime minister, but I will not give in under blackmail," said Vucic.

A hint of a complete change in the current political panorama in the country was made during the summing up of the recent session of the National Assembly dedicated to Kosovo and Metohija. Vucic said that SNS was alone in defending state interests and that it had the people on its side.

Vucic also said that he is "fed up with corrupt people who want to get rich at the expense of the party, often referring to him in their murky affairs, but whenever they should have fought for the country and the people, they were the first to turn their backs."

Vucic ended his presentation with the words, Serbia will win.
