Srdjan Djokovic reacts before Novak's match: He made a very important decision
He issued a statement before the semifinals
Srdjan Djokovic, Novak Djokovic's father, has reacted out after the uproar in the media over his photos with Russia fans.
After Novak played against Andrey Rublev, Srdjan was photographed in the company of fans wearing Russian symbols.
Because of this, Srdjan Djokovic issued a statement before the semifinal today.
We carry that statement:
"I'm just here to support my son. I have no intention of making headlines or distracting him. I was out front with Novak's fans like I did after each of my son's matches, to celebrate his victories and take pictures with them. I had no intention of getting caught up in this.
My family lived through the horror of war and we just want peace. So, in order not to cause interruptions in the semifinal match between my son and the other player, I decided to watch it from home. I want to see a great match and I will support my son, as always," Djokovic wrote.
