Biljana Pantic Pilja: Increase in violence by Albanians against Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija is evident
"Listing the recent incidents, I asked members of the (CoE) Assembly if they were referring to those tensions and told them I did not hear them as great fighters for human rights"
Biljana Pantic Pilja, a deputy in the Serbian National Assembly as well as the head of the Serbian delegation in the Council of Europe (CoE), has reacted to the discussion in this international institution, and this is what she stated on Wednesday:
"During today's debate in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on the topic of increasing tension between Pristina and Belgrade, as the head of the Serbian delegation, I pointed out that the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, which deals with human rights, should be aware of the increase in violence in Kosovo and Metohija by Albanians against Serbs.
Listing recent incidents, I asked members of the (CoE) Assembly if they were referring to those tensions and told them I did not hear them as great fighters for human rights, condemning attacks on Serbs. Serbia is committed to dialogue, but Pristina must respect all the signed agreements.
Most importantly, the establishment of the ZSO (Community of Serb Municipalities) as well as prevent ethnically motivated attacks on Serbs. Or maybe their goal is the final extermination of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija?! Respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty is key to peace. Long live Serbia!," said Pilja.
