Drama on Zemun bus: Drunk man threatens young passengers with pistol, get arrested armed to the teeth

Belgrade police arrested Lazar B. (46) on suspicion that he drunkenly threatened four young men on a bus in Zemun on Thursday because they were loud, Telegraf.rs has learned.

On the order of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade, he was remanded in custody for up to 30 days.

Unofficially, at the time of his arrest he had about two permilles of blood alcohol in his system.

As we have learned, on January 7, Lazar B. was questioned at the High Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade on suspicion that on January 5, around 10:30 pm, he was carrying a Crvena Zastava pistol on the bus on line 71 without authorization and that he pointed it at the young men of Romani nationality, and he also kept a hand grenade and around 200 pieces of ammunition in his apartment without authorization.

At the hearing, the suspect partially confirmed the allegations from the criminal complaint and the order to conduct the investigation, stating that "he did not want to endanger anyone's safety."

He is charged with the two criminal offenses, illegal production, possession, carrying and trafficking of firearms and explosive substances, and endangering security.
