Bloody night: Man breaks into house, kills one-and-a-half-year-old baby with a knife, seriously wounds ex wife

A great family tragedy happened last night in Zagreb, Croatia, when a man broke into his ex-wife's house and stabbed her, and her one-and-a-half-year-old baby with a knife. Unfortunately, the toddler succumbed to her injuries, while the woman is fighting for her life.

As reported by Jutranji.hr, the terrible event took place late last night in a house on the Drugi Kanalski Road in Zagreb.

At around 8:30 pm, G.P. (41) came to the house where his former 41-year-old partner lives with a child. A fierce argument broke out between the former spouses during which, according to Jutarnji List, he attacked the unfortunate woman with a sharp object.

At the same time, he did not hesitate to inflict horrifuc to the baby. Not long after his escape, the mother and child were transported to Zagreb hospitals.

Unfortunately, the child could not be saved despite the efforts of the doctors.

After that, the man walked away in an unknown direction through the neighborhood, ended up on a ring road, where he was hit by a vehicle, which killed him, under circumstances that have not yet been clarified.

A police investigation is underway, in order to determine all the circumstances of this brutal crime.

More information is expected after the unfortunate woman speaks if her health condition allows for it.

The Zagreb Public Prosecutor's Office said that they will issue a statement regarding the case.
