The Belgrade raft nightclub Freestyler will be closed because of vacations and the newly created situation, it is stated on the venue's official social media accounts.

This announcement followed the arrest of three people.

Yesterday, Freestyler manager Dragan V. (46), director Marko R. (51) and owner, Greek citizen Markos L. (51), were all arrested.

The operation was carried by the criminal investigations police (UKP) 5th Department and the 3rd Basic Public Prosecutor's Office.

The three are suspected of allowing more people on the raft than its capacity on December 31, which resulted in the vessel partially sinking, thus endangered the safety of a large number of people.

They have been detained by the police, and will be questioned at the Prosecutor's Office tomorrow.

If found guilty, they face a sentence of 1 to 8 years in prison.

Markos L. opened Freestyler in 2001 together with his brother.
