Freight train derails near Zajecar: It reportedly transported phosphoric acid, no danger to environment

Firefighters and the police are at the scene

A freight train derailed last night, one hour after midnight, on the Zajecar-Knjazevac line near the village of Vratarnica, it has been confirmed for Telegraf.rs.

As we have learned, it happened at 1:05 am, and traffic was stopped on that section of the railroad.

"An investigation is under way, and there is no damage or danger. The rail tanks did not overturn, they just slipped out," said a source.

There was phosphoric acid in the tanks, but there was no spillage.

Firefighters and the police are at the scene.

This rail line was recently reconstructed. The Timok River is not far away.
