After the session of the Crisis HQ, which consists of political representatives of Serbs from the north of Kosovo and prominent individuals, he said that they want to preserve peace and called on citizens to remain persistent and show restraint on the barricades, but also that in order to preserve peace, it is necessary for special police to withdraw from the north, reports Kosovo Online.
"We want to preserve peace and we call on the citizens to preserve peace, in order to preserve it, the police need to withdraw. It is obvious that their presence in mixed areas in North Mitrovica causes fear among the citizens, because special forces of Albanian nationality armed to the teeth are walking by the homes of our citizens, stopping and harassing our citizens, search their vehicles. The situation is such that people cannot leave their homes normally," said Simic.
He thanked the citizens on the barricades, who, he stressed, are gettting more and more numerous, and who have decided to stay in these areas and are ready to defend their right to live a normal life in the 21st century.
"Every day there are more and more people on the barricades because they are above all aware that this is the reaction of the Serbs to what Pristina wants, which is the expulsion of people from these areas, and we once again appeal on the citizens to remain persistent but show restraint, to respect especially international representatives of KFOR and EULEX because they are there on the ground in accordance with international agreements," said Simic.
He also added that the HQ does not accept the illegal verdict against Ivan Todosijevic either, that passed without any evidence, only because he is a Serb.
