This is the Futog murderer who committed suicide in prison: His cousin also stabbed his sister-in-law
After an argument, Maksimovic stabbed his wife with a knife in the heart, neck and chin, killing her instantly
Mile Maksimovic (53) from Futog, who committed suicide in the Klisa prison in Novi Sad, was serving a sentence for the murder of his wife Ivana Radulov (50).
The murder took place on Friday, July 22 of this year, in the family home in this town in Serbia's northern province of Vojvodina.
After committing the murder, he tried to take his own life by cutting his throat in front of the police. After that, he was placed in the hospital, where he was guarded by the police.
The knife with which the crime was committed was found, and the body of the victim was sent for an autopsy. The results showed numerous stab wounds in the chest and neck area.
After an argument, Maksimovic stabbed his wife with a knife in the heart, neck and chin, killing her instantly. When the police arrived at the scene of the crime, Maksimovic was still holding the knife in his hands. Upon a warning and order from the officers to drop the knife, Maksimovic cut his own throat in front of them.
According to neighbors, Mile and Ivana often argued, but the suspect was not suggesting he might commit the crime.
Also in Futog, and in the same street where the killer and his victim lived - in Cara Lazara, a man, D.M. in September attacked a 42-year-old woman, N.B., with a knife. According to information available at the time, he stabbed his sister-in-law.
The woman suffered multiple wounds and was transported to the the Clinical Center of Vojvodina.
As Telegraf.rs reported at the time, D.M. is a close relative of Mile Maksimovic, who has now committed suicide in prison.
