Vucic calls on Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija to preserve peace: But even backed into corner, one must fight
He added that Serbs have a clear conscience
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic today called on Serbs in Kosovo to remain calm and not fall for provocations.
"What is important for us is to call on Albanians and, of course, Serbs to preserve the peace, to calm the situation. I call on Serbs in the north of Kosovo and Metohija to be composed, calm, peaceful, not to fall for provocations" the president wrote on his Instagram account.
He added that these are dramatic days for which we are not to blame, and if we should be calm because of one thing, it is because our conscience is clear.
"But even when one is backed into a corner like that, no doubt, one has to fight. We just want to save our people, for them to stay in their homes," concluded Vucic.
Over the weekend the president presided over a meeting the Council for National Security, after which the president of the Serb List, Goran Rakic, said that Albin Kurti was planning to send special forces to the north of Kosovo.
The north of Kosovo remains blocked, as the Serb population is protesting at the barricades.
