Kurti: ZSO would be some state of Serbia inside Kosovo
Kurti also said that due to the "bitter experience" from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Pristina will not allow the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities (ZSO) because Pristina does not want Serbia to "copy the model" of the Serb Republic.
The prime minister of the provisional institutions of Pristina, Albin Kurti, reiterated that he is against the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities (a provision of the Brussels agreement), stating that this would be "some state of Serbia inside Kosovo."
"They (Belgrade) would like Kosovo not to be a state, they would like the Community of Serb Municipalities that would be some state of Serbia within Kosovo. Their goal is destructive, they don't want anything for the Kosovo Serbs, they want something against us," Albin Kurti believes, reports Tanjug.
In an interview for N1 BiH, Kurti said that Belgrade would first recognize so-called Kosovo if it wants the ZSO and that Serbia "wants the ZSO so that Kosovo cannot function."
Kurti also said that due to the "bitter experience" from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Pristina will not allow the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities (ZSO) because Pristina does not want Serbia to "copy the model" of the Serb Republic (RS).
"For the normalization of relations, we need to have mutual recognition at the center of an agreement. If Belgrade says that this will not happen, then they are against reaching an agreement. Kosovo will not allow the a Serb Republic inside Kosovo, and we know very well that this is what Serbia wants. We have bitter experience from BiH and we are very careful that Serbia does not copy that model in Kosovo," Kurti said.
He also said that agreement between Pristina and Belgrade will not be easy, but that dialogue should be given a chance. When asked why he is saying that an agreement will be reached by the spring, he said that "the spring is a sufficient period to finally normalize relations, if we have the good will."
