A Colombian played an important role in cocaine smuggling, he escorted the cargo from Montenegro to Albania
Rodriguez entered Montenegro on July 13
Colombian citizen Zaimir Rodríguez, whom the police believe played an important role in smuggling 430 kilograms of cocaine, escorted the cargo of drugs from the Port of Bar in Montenegro to the final destination in Albania - the village of Frakull e Madhe, writes Balkan Web.
It is also stated that Rodriguez entered Montenegro on July 13, reports RTCG.
The tip about the drug smuggling operation came from the US agency DEA, and the value of the cocaine is estimated at 40 million euros.
After a large amount of cocaine was discovered in the Port of Bar in a joint operation by Montenegrin and Albanian police and DEA, searches and arrests followed in Albania.
Albanian police arrested 15 persons, including some former local officials, who are alleged to have ordered the cocaine shipment.
Representatives of Albanian investigative authorities told journalists earlier in Tirana that this was a successful international operation.
