Vucic to Kurti: The status issue is done, have a safe trip to Brussels

Kurti told the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung that he would not have gone to Brussels to negotiate the issue of license plates, if it was not for the sake of a comprehensive agreement, which, he says, must be reached before the spring of 2023

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said today that as far as he is concerned, the issue of the status of Kosovo and Metohija is done - and in line with the Charter of the United Nations and UN Security Council Resolution 1244.

Commenting on Albin Kurti's statement that he would not go to Brussels just over the license plates, but for a comprehensive agreement on mutual recognition, Vucic said:

"Ok. He can go to Brussels when he wants, and how he wants to, that's his business. Did he say that as far as he is concerned, the status issue is done... And as far as I am concerned, too, the status issue has been done for a long time, in accordance with the UN Charter and UN Security Council Resolution 1244", said Vucic and ironically added:

"I wish him a safe trip to Brussels."

Kurti told the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung that he would not have gone to Brussels to negotiate the issue of license plates, if it was not for the sake of a comprehensive agreement, which, he says, must be reached before the spring of 2023.
