Mitro's not on fire: Our striker's unbelievably bad luck against Cameroon, injury, woodwork and missed sitter!
What was this?!
Serbia's best footballers dominated the first half hour of the 2nd round World Cup Group G match against Cameroon (the game ended in a 3-3 draw), but the important, sometimes even the most important factor to create an advantage was missing - luck!
Luck was definitely not on the side of Aleksandar Mitrovic, who in just 15 minutes suffered a strong blow to the leg, then hit the goal post, and then failed to score from a chance he probably never missed before!
Already in the 1st minute, Cameroon players fouled Mitro hard, it was questionable whether he would be able to continue, but he gritted his teeth and continued to play and very quickly became the main protagonist of the game.
In the 11th minute, he masterfully evaded a defender near the touchline, pushed the ball in front of him, took a shot, but hit the woodwork!
A few minutes later, more shocking moments followed for Mitrovic and Serbia...
After chaos in front of the Cameroon goal, the ball fell right at the feet of our striker, a perfect opportunity, but Mitar was unrecognizably imprecise even in that situation. He kickedthe the ball hard and missed the entire goal.
Mitro was not "on fire" today...
