Western Serbia - the magic you have to experience (POLL)
Zlatibor, Zlatar, Special Nature Reserve Uvac, Jadovnik, Sopotnica cascades, Podrinje mountains, Tara and Pester are just some attractive tourist destinations in the western part of Serbia
Whether you are a fan of long walks, hiking, fishing, swimming in a river or lake, enjoying the view of waterfalls, cycling through dense coniferous forests, skiing or visiting caves, the western part of Serbia will be the right choice.
Although they are not as popular among tourists as Zlatibor and Tara, mountains like Povlen, Zlatar, Jagodnja, Boranje, Gucevo and Jadovnik are equally attractive to get to know, especially if you prefer untouched nature to commercial tourist attractions.
Many will agree that the Tara National Park is also the most beautiful part of Western Serbia. As much as 80 percent of its 25,000 hectares is a woodland, with 1,155 plant and 140 bird species. As many as 290 kilometers of hiking trails and several observation decks promise that your stay on Mt. Tara will be unforgettable if you like to hike and observe the surroundings from mountain heights.
Mt. Zlatibor, on the other hand, boasts a large number of ski slopes, the longest panoramic gondola in the world, the Stopic Cave, the Gostilje Waterfall and the traditional village of Sirogojno, that has 40 homes installed there, collected from all over the "Golden Mountain" - as well as the Knitting Museum.
A visit to Zlatibor naturally continues on to Uvac, whose twisted meanders, immortalized in numerous photos and videos, have delighted the world.
The Sopotnica cascades and the Jadovnik Mouuntain on the edge of the Pester Plateau have been attracting an increasing number of tourists in recent years, while "the queen" of spa tourism in the Drina Valley (Podrinje) area - Banja Koviljaca has long had the status of a place that "heals both the soul and the body."
