Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic spoke yesterday with the Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS) CEO Kirill Tyurdenev about supplying the domestic market with oil and oil derivatives.

Djedovic said that the most important thing for the ministry and the Government of Serbia is to ensure a safe supply of the domestic market with oil derivatives, as well as sufficient quantities of crude oil for the smooth operation of the refinery in Pancevo, the ministry announced.

"After December 5, when the eighth package of EU sanctions against the Russian Federation enters into force, the smooth delivery of all types of oil available on the free market will be ensured, which will maintain the security of supply to the Pancevo refinery. A significant amount of oil that we import is not from the territories of countries under sanctions. The most important thing is that, regardless of the energy crisis that the whole of Europe is struggling with, citizens can count on an uninterrupted supply of all oil derivatives," said Djedovic.

The NIS CEO congratulated the minister on her appointment and stressed that NIS, as a socially responsible company, fully understands the priorities and unpredictable circumstances the oil industry is currently facing at the world level.

"Thanks to timely planning, NIS has secured sufficient quantities of oil for the Pancevo refinery even after December 5. The refinery will continue to operate at maximum capacity, and there will be enough oil and oil derivatives. In the coming year, we are planning investments in renewable energy sources, as well as the continuation of our socially responsible projects," said Tyurdenev.

One of the topics of the meeting was the work of TE-TO Pancevo, with a capacity of about 200 megawatts, which contributes to the stable supply of electricity to citizens and the economy through the production of heat and electricity, with a high degree of utilization of natural gas as the energy source.
