Serbian Presidnet Aleksandar Vucic said today that Serbia is in for a "hellish winter."

When asked by journalists about heating and savings, the president stressed these are small savings and replied with a question - "Why (start) heating (season) in this weather?"

"As you can see, we have no problems with the heating system. We have enough of everything, today we have 667 million cubic meters of gas with MET, MVM, MOL and in Banatski Dvor, not counting the Russian storage portion in Banatski Dvor. The Russians will fill their part up to 250 million cubic meters. In our own and the three leased storage facilities, we have a total of 667 million cubic meters of gas.

If they cut us off tomorrow, commit sabotage, then pretend not to know who committed that sabotage - although there is no politician in the world who does not know who carried out the sabotage in the Baltics - but we all pretend to be fools and keep silent so as not to harm our country's interests, but what you do you do, that hypocrisy reigns everywhere... Even if that happened with the Balkan Stream (pipeline), we would somehow survive, we don't know about the others. So, people can be calm about that," stressed Vucic.

"Colder weather will start in seven days. That's when gas reserves in Europe will start to be used up. Yesterday, gas was only 190, and today it is 450 euros or dollars per ton. That will be going up every day now, because when the first cubic meters of gas start leaving from warehouses, and there's no new gas inflow, the price jumps immediately. This increases the cost of electricity. Yesterday it was 156, today it is 240. I just want to tell you that it goes up to 50 percent on a daily basis. So it will be a hellishly difficult winter, but Serbia is prepared well," said Vucic.

The president of Serbia announced that he will address the nation during the weekend or early next week, where he will present the state's decisions regarding the current political issues.

"But, those will also be decisions about what we will do regarding all other important issues, energy sources, food and everything else," he concluded.
