New Defense Minister on composition of government: Have Zorana Mihajlovic and Stefanovic been punished?
"We will see to it to preserve this ship of ours called Serbia and that Serbia is the one sitting on the Serbian chair," said Vucevic.
Milos Vucevic, the candidate for minister of defense in the new Serbian Government, has commented on the new cabinet, while also referring to some of the figures from the previous one that have been left out.
"I believe that the government will be worthy in the coming period and will be a good partner to the president of the Republic. I am very proud that we nominated non-partisan figures and by far the largest number of women members of the government. This shows that we are ready to further democratize society. It won't be easy, it's not like we're pretending to be some fake worried people, but we do look realistically at the things that are happening around us. We will see to it that we preserve this ship of ours called Serbia and that Serbia is the one sitting on the Serbian chair," he stated, according to Blic.
Vucevic said it is expected that the session of the Assembly of Serbia will be scheduled for Tuesday and that Ana Brnabic will present her exposé at that time.
He refused to confirm whether Aleksandar Vulin will be the new director of BIA agency, noting that the government will decide on that.
Speaking about the departures of Nebojsa Stefanovic and Zorana Mihajlovic from the cabinet, he said that he did not understand why this is interpreted as punishment.
"It's not about punishment at all, but you have to change the team occasionally and give other people a chance. Otherwise you don't have to have elections, you just 'copy paste' the government from mandate to mandate. It's natural to change the composition. This composition of the government is a combination, you have people who were ministers before, a woman representative who was also prime minister before and 13 new people," stressed Vucevic.
