President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic met today with a delegation of SUBNOR (WW2 veterans association), on the occasion of marking October 20, the Day of the Liberation of Belgrade in the Second World War.

Among them were two soldiers who fought in the battles to liberate our capital 78 years ago.

"I am especially honored that I was able to shake the hands of two soldiers who participated in the liberation of Belgrade - Ljubusa Antonijevic and Dragoslav Dimitrijevic", Vucic wrote on his official Instagram account "buducnostsrbijeav" and posted photos from the meeting.

The meeting was also attended by Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Darija Kisic.

Today, Belgrade celebrates the Day of Liberation in the Second World War - the day when, 78 years ago, Operation Belgrade ended in success, in that way ending the Nazi German 1,287-day occupation of the Serbian capital.
