President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic has confirmed that he will address the nation on Saturday, October 8, and speak about the steps that will be taken by the state regarding all important political and economic issues.

"I will address citizens on Saturday, the 8th, and then we will speak about all our moves and measures and what kind of policy we will pursue in the coming period. Starting on Friday, we have important meetings," said the president.

He said that then he will inform citizens about salaries and pensions and other actions that the state will undertake.

"Also what are our energy saving measures are and how to 'survive' the fall and the winter and what we need to do and what kind of policy we will pursue in the coming period, bearing in mind what is happening," said Vucic.

He also stressed that it is important for Serbia to have a stable policy.

"We withstood for 210 days, no one expected that, Serbia's path is difficult and thorny, it is difficult to find it, but it is a path that takes care of Serbia's interests," he pointed out.

Serbia will not and cannot recognize expected decision of Russian Duma

The president also said that Serbia cannot and will not recognize the expected decision of Russia's State Duma to accept parts of Ukraine's territory into the Russian Federation, following referendums there.

"We are protecting our own territorial integrity and it is in our best interest to protect the territorial integrity of internationally recognized countries and that is the only thing that certainly cannot be changed, these are things that are of crucial importance for us," said Vucic.

He added that otherwise, Serbia would no longer be in any position, not only when it comes to Kosovo and Metohija, but also regarding the respect it deserves in the international community today.
