Serbian fans sing, "Piksi, take the world title" after Oslo win; look at joy among Serbian footballers
The ambitions of many people are growing after our squad's phenomenal games against Norway and Sweden
Serbia's footballers played an incredible game in Oslo last night, probably the best since head coach Dragan Stojkovic Piksi took over.
His players gave Haaland and the rest of Norway's team a lesson in football, winning 2-0 thanks to goals from Vlahovic and Mitrovic and securing the top spot, promoting Serbia to the top tier of the Nations League, and to pot 2 in the draw for EURO 2024 (European Championship) qualifiers.
An emotional celebration was also seen after the match. Piksi celebrated with great pleasure and pure happiness.
He hugged the director of the national team, Stevan Stojanovic, telling him, "Well, this is what we f***ing came here for."
During the celebration, the team was throwing both Piksi and Mitrovic up in the air.
At the end, the head coach and the players honored the fans who cheered them on in Oslo for the whole 90 minutes. Piksi gestured to say, "thank you from the bottom of my heart" - and the fans responded with, "Piksi, take the world title," to the delight of the players, who smiled and applauded.
In less than two months, from November 20 until December 19, Serbia will compete in the World Cup in Qatar. Orlovi ("Eagles," the Serbian squad's nickname) are in Group G with Brazil, Switzerland and Cameroon, with their first match against Brazil scheduled for November 24.
