Dacic gives full support to President Vucic: Serbia is fighting for peace, Pristina is making unilateral moves

SPS leader Ivica Dacic says that in these difficult days, he wants to express his full and unequivocal support to the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, in the defense of our national and state interests.

"Serbia is fighting for peace with all its might by participating in the negotiations in Brussels, although Pristina does not want to implement what was agreed, constantly making unilateral moves instead aimed at militarily conquering the north of Kosovo and Metohija and causing the pogrom and expulsion of the Serbs. The European Union and the West are silent, in that way, in effect, approving Pristina's actions," he said, and added:

"They also keep silent on the latest results of the census in Croatia, where the expulsion of the Serbs continues, they are also silent on the requests for a revision of the Dayton Agreement, which calls for the abolition of the Serb Republic (RS). They remain silent even when the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Albania and Kosovo sign various agreements that envisage joint diplomatic missions and assistance in getting Kosovo recognitions."

The only time the European Union and the West react is when Serbia needs to be threatened, like, for example, because of the consultation plan between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Serbia and Russia, Dacic noted.

"I personally, while serving as foreign minister for six years, signed several such agreements with Russia, as well as with other countries, which is quite common practice, and which does not affect Serbia's foreign policy in any way. But that's not what bothers them, the main reason for the hysteria are the clear and decisive positions held by President Aleksandar Vucic regarding Serbia's sovereign and independent foreign policy, which are based solely on Serbia's interests," said Dacic.

The basic principles of international law must also apply to Serbia, and to our territorial integrity and sovereignty, Dacic remarked.

"This is what bothers various spokespeople the most, that Serbia so firmly and constantly defends its territorial integrity when their assessment when they recognized Kosovo was that this does not apply to Serbia. They cannot understand that no amount of unprincipled pressure and threats will influence Aleksandar Vucic to change his policy: we give everything for peace, but Serbia for nothing. In these critical moments, national unity and stability are needed for our people and country," said Dacic and called on all political parties to stand behind Vucic's policy:

"As for me personally and the Socialist Party of Serbia, as always, we stand firmly in support of President Vucic, in favor of preserving peace and protecting our national and state interests."
