A hit video from Serbia, showing a football referee "inventing the poor man's VAR" during a municipal-level league game, went viral online and has had thousands of views. The referee is seen trying to decide whether or not to allow a goal by watching a video a fan took with their phone.

However, his internet fame has cost the referee dearly, because the Referee Commission removed him from their list.

Sport Klub is reporting that the refereeing career of Stefan Lazovic from Kraljevo ended a day after the game played in Vrnjici.

The Secretariat of the Professional Organization of the Raski District Football Federation decided to remove the young referee from the register in urgent procedure.

Lazovic graduated from law school and currently interns at the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Kraljevo.

Meanwhile, the municipal league game will forever be remember for these legendary scenes.
