The coordinator of EuroPride 2022, Goran Miletic, announced today that organizers have filed a complaint with the Administrative Court regarding the ban on organizing a walk in Belgrade as part of this event.

"We appeal to the Administrative Court to, in accordance with the practice of the Constitutional Court, by the time the walk takes place, make a decision canceling the ban issued by the Ministry of Interior and thus enable us to walk and fight for our basic human rights on Saturday, September 17 at 5 pm," Miletic said in a statement delivered to the media.

He also said that they will turn to the Constitutional Court as well asking it to declare the ban as unconstitutional, in accordance with its previous decisions.

Miletic also referred to a statement issued by the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office on measures and actions that will be taken within its jurisdiction in order to protect public order and peace.

"The organizer's request and recommendation to the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office is to, before taking any action, consult the Constitution once again as the highest legal act of this country," said Miletic and added that actions of organizers and participants in EuroPride are fully in accordance with the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Serbia.

"Throughout history the struggle for basic civil rights has always been difficult and disputed, but is also the only possible and correct one," concluded Miletic.
