Storm in Montenegro: Flooded streets in Podgorica and on the coast

Due to heavy rains the streets in Budva were also flooded

Over 50 liters of rain fell per square meter fell in a short time in Herceg Novi this morning, which caused flooding in buildings and public areas, and triggered landslides on roads.

Municipal services are working to clear the terrain.

Fire services are pumping water out of the building on Skver and putting out a fire in Zelenica, which was caused by lightning. Lightning set fire to a tree in the village of Presjeka, report RTCG.

Due to heavy rains, the streets of the old town in Budva were also flooded.

Podgorica streets flooded

A strong storm hit Podgorica this morning, and some streets were flooded because of heavy rainfall.

Readers of Vijesti sent photos of flooded streets in the Zabjelo neighborhood of Podgorica and in the parts of the town across the Moraca River.
