President Vucic offers condolences after death of Queen Elizabeth: "She was the support of the entire nation"
British Queen Elizabeth II passed away at the age of 96
President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic sent a telegram of condolences on the occasion of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, his press office said.
"On behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Serbia and on my own behalf, I offer sincere and deep condolences on the death of Queen Elizabeth II. Her majesty marked the modern history of the United Kingdom and the world with her selfless public service, setting an example of how to carry the authority of a ruler and perform duties even in the most difficult times. Queen Elizabeth II faced every challenge wisely, unobtrusively, but decisively, primarily taking into account the welfare of the nation, which earned her the immense affection of both her subjects and numerous admirers around the world. She was the support of her family and the entire nation, which was devoted to her through generations. Her dedicated attitude towards duties and concern for the nation and state, as well as her commitment to preserving the highest moral values and principles, became synonymous with the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, who over the decades worked tirelessly and consistently to make the United Kingdom a country of prosperity for all. Regardless of the numerous challenges and difficulties that marked the decades of her reign, Queen Elizabeth II, beneath her outward fragility, displayed strength worthy of the greatest rulers in history. Once again, I express my deepest condolences to the family of Her Majesty, as well as to the citizens and the Government of the United Kingdom, convinced that they will continue to remember her by respecting her wisdom as a ruler and her patriotism," President Vucic's condolence telegram reads.
