Brnabic conveyes Vucic's greetings, along with joint message: We will stand with our people in Kosovo
As she stressed in her address in front of the monastery, "You can't help but feel special and feel even more energy, to fight for our people and for the presence of Serbia in Kosovo and Metohija"
It is an indescribable honor for me to be here today in Kosovo and Metohija and now in the Banjska Monastery, where you can best feel the presence and longevity of the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija, said Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, who is today visiting Kosovo and Metohija.
In her address in front of this Serbian Orthodox shrine in northern Kosovo and Metohija, she said that, "You can't help but feel special and feel even more energy, to fight for our people and for the presence of Serbia in Kosovo and Metohija."
"I am here today to convey the message of peace and how important stability is to us and how much we will fight for it in these challenging times. Challenging times in Kosovo have been ongoing for centuries, but the most important thing, what I want to say here - the unity of our people and unity around the SPC (Serbian Orthodox Church), unity with our state and state leadership is important to us. While we were divided, we were weak, only when Vucic came with the idea of the unity of the Serbian people, we started to strengthen, and to be a stronger political factor. My request today is that you protect that unity, it is the greatest thing you have here, then it will be easier for us in Belgrade to tackle all the challenges," she said.
According to Brnabic, Pristina is running away from reaching agreements, while insisting on implementing the agreement from 2011.
"Serbia is meeting its obligations, whoever signed it... In such circumstances, Vucic managed to keep (Serbian) ID cards (in Kosovo and Metohija). We continue to fight around license plates, it is an ongoing fight. We continue to insist on the formation of the ZSO (Community of Serb Municipalities) and on full implementation of the Brussels Agreement. I understand that Pristina is running away from that," Brnabic stressed.
"Peace and stability are the most important things for Serbia and for the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija. In these turbulent times, we strive to preserve peace and stability in order to provide better living conditions. We will try to find a solution through dialogue and compromise and we are ready for almost anything, at any cost, but there are red lines. It is the security of our people in Kosovo and Metohija. There will be no new (Operation) Storm and no new pogroms," said Brnabic.
"I am here to convey Vucic's message that we will always stand with the people in Kosovo and Metohija," said Serbia's PM-designate.
As Brnabic added, 620,000 euros have been invested in the reconstruction of the Banjska Monastery alone.
