Nebojsa Stefanovic: Serbia is winning despite pressure related to Kosovo and Metohija
Kurti's attempts to threaten the survival of Serbs by force are stronger than ever in the past - Stefanovic said
Defense Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said today that Serbia is winning despite facing ever stronger pressure when it comes to Kosovo and Metohija and despite Albin Kurti's attempts to threaten the survival of Serbs by force.
"To make everything even more difficult, in the fight to preserve normal, stable daily life of every citizen, without shortages and crises, Serbia is also facing ever stronger pressure regarding Kosovo and Metohija, our most important national and state interest."
Kurti's attempts to threaten the survival of the Serbs by force are stronger than ever in the foreseeable past. "He is doing his best to take advantage of the turbulence in Europe and the world and, in the shadow of this, realize his unfulfilled dream of a Kosovo without any Serbs," Stefanovic stressed.
He added that this strike against Serbia and the Serbs failed, again because Kurti had on the opposite side a strong Serbia and the responsible and statesmanlike policy of President Vucic.
"And while Serbia and Vucic are fighting hard battles day after day, the attacks continue and are coming no less than from the same people who brought this country to the brink of bankruptcy and during whose time in power (in Serbia) so-called Kosovo declared independence. If, by some misfortune, they were still in power, Serbia as we know and love it today would not exist. It would have collapse under the weight of their greed and would be controlled by various people who do not wish it well," stressed Stefanovic.
He added that Serbia would be "weak, unprotected, poor and without a plan for tomorrow, for what will happen in the winter, and for what will happen next year at this time, Serbia would be exactly as all those who do not wish it well would want it to be."
"Fortunately, we have gone far and irrevocably away from such a Serbia, because at its helm we have a man who long ago established a clear, albeit the most difficult possible, only correct policy - Serbia above all. Nobody and nothing can be more important than Serbia and every one of our citizens. This is President Vucic's stance towards Serbia, and that is why, together with our country, he is exposed to unprecedented pressure and challenges," says the minister of defense.
He stressed that Serbia is winning today, it knows difficulties, but it seeks and finds solutions for them.
"It is independent and makes decisions exclusively in the interest of its people and will remain so, because it is led by a man who only wants good for it, not sparing a single atom of his strength for that goal. And Serbia will win tomorrow too, whatever those who attack it from the inside, as a rule, always in difficult moments, think about it, because it put itself first," he said.
Stefanovic said that today Serbia is facing challenges that it has not faced in the past.
"There is almost no important state or interest of our citizens that is not under pressure and at a greater or lesser risk of not being realized. Someone, perhaps, will say that we remember similar times and that we have already dealt with such big problems, that today is no different from the times that are behind us. But is that really so? We have dealt with big problems, but the difference is that today's Serbia, led by President Aleksandar Vucic, has not brought these challenges to our door by any act, decision or policy," he pointed out.
He added that "the leadership of today's Serbia is doing everything to predict the problems that can befall us and not by our fault in time, and to make decisions that will protect our country from the risks that are rampant in today's world, their number is growing year by year."
"Our fight against catastrophic consequences of the Covid pandemic is just one example, by its success we were at the very top of Europe and the world, not only in terms of health, but also economically. Serbia withstood the turbulence, kept the economy stable, and with continuous growth. In terms of direct investments, Serbia is the convincing record holder in this part of Europe. And while even the richest countries in Europe were laying off workers, Serbia was hiring. And not only that, Serbia invested and built itself," stressed the minister of defense.
He added that "today, when the world does not look like it did just a year ago, Serbia is stable and strong, resisting unprecedented disruptions in the market of energy products, food and all other goods."
"This is not accidental, a stable supply of electricity and gas does not fall from the sky, nor is the fact that there are no queues and shortages at gas stations and in front of supermarkets just a coincidence. All this is the result of enormous work and responsibility towards this country, which is personified by President Vucic and the policy he leads," concluded Stefanovic.
