The Djerdap (Iron Gates) National Park in Serbia is full of incredibly beautiful locations, many of which have not yet been discovered by tourists.

One of them is the Kovilovo observation deck in the area of the same name, which offers a fantastic view of the Danube.

But from Kovilovo you can see not only the second longest river in Europe, which is in this part as much as two kilometers wide.

From here there isalso a view of the submerged Porec river island, all three locations where Donji Milanovac used to be, the Donji Milanovac basin, Treskavac in Lepenski Vir, Greben and part of the territory of neighboring Romania.

It is not difficult to get to the observation deck itself. After driving a few kilometers on the road that leads from Donji Milanovac to Majdanpek, you should stop at the sign pointing to Kovilovo and continue on foot to the observation deck.

The terrain is easy to navigate and extremely pleasant for hiking, and the view you will be rewarded with from Kovilovo is worth every step.
