President Aleksandar Vucic has announced that Serbia's natural gas reserves are at a historic maximum.

"262 million cubic meters of gas have been secured in our part of the storage in Banatski Dvor, and we bought another 200 million cubic meters, which we stored in Hungary, just for the needs of Serbia," wrote Vucic on the "buducnostsrbijeav" Instagram account.

He added that the state is overhauling all the thermal capacities it can and is trying to open new coal deposits.

"All in all, I am sure that the citizens of Serbia will have at least a little less cold winter than what we expected," said Vucic.
