Russia Embassy: Arrest of Russian journalist in Kosovo and Metohija was another in a series of provocations
Komsomolskaya Pravda journalist Daria Aslamova was detained in Kosovo on Saturday, to then be released after questioning, and has left the southern Serbian province
The detaining of Russian journalist Daria Aslamova by the police in Kosovo is another provocation by the unrecognized state of Kosovo, the Russian Embassy in Belgrade has stated.
"The baseless detention of Daria Aslamova represents another in a series of provocations by the provisional institutions in Kosovo, with Pristina completely ignoring basic democratic principles, including freedom of the press. We invite the UN Secretariat, UNMIK, the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, the EU rule of law mission and professional international organizations to immediately come out with a public assessment of the event," the embassy said in a statement.
Komsomolskaya Pravda journalist Daria Aslamova was detained in Kosovo on Saturday, to then be released after questioning, and has left the southern Serbian province. The reason given by the Kosovo police for detaining the reporter was suspicion that she was a spy.
