Another tennis player speaks up in favor of letting Djokovic compete at US Open
Millman supported Novak
Australian tennis player John Millman is one in a series of figures who have supported Novak Djokovic and publicly requested that the Serb be allowed to compete at the US Open!
The last Grand Slam of the year starts on August 29 and Novak cannot play there unless he gets vaccinated. Specifically, he cannot enter the US without proof of vaccination.
Like many before him, Millman thinks that doesn't make sense - which he explained on Twitter.
"I'm out with Covid. I was just in the States and it didn't really feel like too many were following any recommendations or guidelines there. Which is fine, but therefore I can't see then why @DjokerNole can't come and compete," the Australian wrote.
John Isner also supported Djokovic, but the only option for Novak to be at the US Open is for the US administration to make an exception in his case.
Even Congresswoman Claudia Tenney has sent a written request to US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and other US officials urging them to grant Novak a national interest exemption.
